From the very first moment you arrive, the hotel makes you feel entirely at home. Tucked away in a quiet spot yet within easy reach of the city, it offers both convenience and a welcoming atmosphere. The staff are exceptionally friendly and attentive, always ready to assist with a smile, and their warmth immediately sets the tone for the stay. The rooms are cosy, impeccably arranged, and thoughtfully equipped with all the essentials. Every detail is practical and well considered, from the spotless cleanliness to the presence of an iron and ironing board neatly mounted on the wall. Although compact, the rooms are comfortable and provide everything needed for a short or longer stay. Security is another strong point: the hotel feels absolutely safe and well looked after, even though it is located close to major roads. The round-the-clock reception adds to this sense of reassurance, with staff always present to ensure guests are at ease. Breakfast is served strictly in the English tradition, with hearty classics but none of the continental fare such as sliced meats, cheeses or pastries. This fits neatly with the hotel’s English only concept, lending it an authentic character, though guests who prefer a wider variety may find the choice limited. Throughout, the hotel is not only clean and comfortable but also practical in every respect. Combined with the warm hospitality of the staff, these qualities create an environment that feels less like a stopover and more like a home away from home.

Good clean hotel with good staff and a decent breakfast selection. A no-frills stay, but does what it says on the tin, cleanly and efficiently. Staff were helpful and location is convenient. Room was a good size and nice and clean. I’d happily stay here again.

My husband has already reviewed but after an amazing stay on Saturday night I also want to highlight the friendly staff, good easy free parking. The hotel is immaculate with every ammenity needed , comfy bed , quiet room, good shower. It exceeded expectations especially the great complimentary hot and cold breakfast buffet in a lovely spacious dining area. Location was perfect for us visiting our daughter and family. Highly recommend and will definitely return. Great value for money!

We had a great stay on Saturday night. The location, room and breakfast were excellent. We’d like to say a special thanks to Edel who was very kind to our daughter and went out of her way to make our stay comfortable. Thanks!

Used this as a halfway point from Scotland to Wales. Was ideal as had breakfast included and allowed dogs. The check-in was excellent, I had stupidly booked the wrong dates and Jessica (team leader) was training a new start and was very helpful and managed to find me a ground floor room whilst calmly training the new girl despite my error, also handed me a treat bag for my staffy. The room was large, warm and immaculate with a wide screen tv which I plugged my firestick into and a sofa bed my dog slept on. The shower was powerful and warm and the bed was so comfy. I woke the next day to Jessica working an early again at reception and handing treats to my staffy, she had mentioned there had been a flood in the kitchen last night but their was no signs of it as she had resolved the issue . She is a real warm person and her people skills and personality are a great assett to the hotel. Will definately be using this wee gem again. Would definately recommend if you are travelling with a dog. Give Jessica a pay rise! Top service and solving problems with a smile. How it should be.

A great hotel for a short stay. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The rooms were comfortable...nice to see a different brand of toiletries than most hotels. The breakfast was basic, sadly not a great choice.

The hotel is close to M6, so good to get back onto your journey, the hotel is a good stop off. The room we were in was a family room, had a double bed which was really comfortable to sleep, they even had two sorts of pillows to use a soft and firm to choose from, can't fault them as had a decent sleep after our long journey to get here before we head to Somerset. The staff was very helpful and friendly. There breakfast is one of the best we have had and was included with the price of the room, not like other hotels where you pay separately and there food is not as good, wide choice to choose from. Will definitely be staying here again when we make our trips down south, would highly recommend staying here.

Stayed here in early December. Booked a twin room. Decent hotel, comfortable beds and room is nice. Room came with breakfast which is a buffet style with full English pastries, yoghurt and fruits toast crossiants. Staff are excellent, friendly and helpful. Rooms only have 2 plus sockets so this is a bit of a pain if you are staying for a few day. Also there is no air conditionibg in the rooms so I can imagine it would be a bit uncomfortable in summer. There is a restaurant opposite the hotel and also a McDonald's if you want something cheaper to eat. Overall good hotel and would stay here again.
